                <foliation>Die erste Foliierung der Einzelblätter in arabischen Ziffern hat <rs ref="#Archivar1">Archivar 1</rs> vermutlich in den 1960er Jahren mit Bleistift auf den Blattvorderseiten (recto-Seiten) vorgenommen. Die zweite Foliierung der Einzelblätter wurde im Rahmen der Notizbuch-Edition von <rs ref="#Archivar2">Archivar 2</rs> im November 2011 mit Bleistift auf den Blattvorderseiten (recto-Seiten) in arabischen Ziffern durchgeführt. Dabei wurde die alte Zählung mit eckigen Klammern markiert. Der auf <ref target="#xpath(//surface[@n='1r'])">Blatt 1r</ref> geschriebenen Auktionsnummer von 1933, „508-9“, ging keine Foliierung voraus.</foliation>

Möglicherweise ist das ein Hinweis darauf, dass Fontane die Ausstellung mit dem Katalog besichtigte und die fehlende Nummer deshalb mit dem Titel des Gemäldes in seinem Notizbuch nachgetragen hat. Warum sich Fontane lediglich die Nummern, nicht aber die dazugehörigen Titel der Gemälde notierte, liegt auf der Hand: Er benötigte die Nummern für weitere Besuche der Ausstellung, die dann auch im Januar 1882 folgten, um sich dann gezielt die entsprechenden Blechen-Gemälde noch einmal im Original anzusehen. Und tatsächlich sind weitere Notizen zur „Vierzehnten Sonderausstellung“ in Notizbuch B8 belegt. Sie sind im Januar 1882 angefertigt worden; vgl.
